About Me

Welcome to my site where I hope to educate those who are trying to understand Veganism as well as those who are making the transition to eating to live. I am passionate about teaching and about raising awareness of the healing properties of food.

Growing up in the Virgin Islands, much of our food was either grown at home or right there on the island. In 1995, as a longtime vegetarian, I realized that Veganism is the future and chose to become a vegan.

I have always been interested in the science of food and its effect on the human body. I began to study plants, the human body and food, and realized that they are all one and the same.  The body is made up of 102 minerals. We need to replenish the minerals that we use through our daily activities; therefore what we eat should be for that purpose. Once I realized that our blood cells and plant cells have the same structure, it only made sense to combine the two.

I admit to being a science geek and I enjoy healthy eating as well as delicious food. Many people are afraid to try vegetarianism, veganism, or even a healthier lifestyle because they believe the food will be bland, boring, or difficult to make. I am here to show you that is not the case.

I enjoy the challenge of combining foods that work together.  Not all food combinations or juicing combos work. Some things cancel out others, so it is important to know what foods to eat together.

Many of the recipes I share are the result of my love of experimenting with flavors, colors, and textures and combining them into a dish that is pleasing to both the eye and the palate. I encourage my readers to use my recipes as a jumping off point and to not be afraid to experiment.
