Avocado Sliders

Serves: 3 Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 clean, empty ketchup bottle (clear)
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup distilled water
  • 1/3 cup liquid molasses
  • 6 slices of spelt bread
  • 3 pitted dates(deseed)
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tomato, chopped or sliced
  • 1/2 cup coconut meat shavings
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

Instructions

Mix the molasses, cacao powder, and dates together in a blender.

Add a little bit of water to get the desired consistency.

Pour this liquid into the ketchup bottle.

Set aside.

Toast your spelt bread.

Spread as much molasses sauce on the bread as you like in whatever pattern you desire.

Add the avocado and tomato and a little more molasses sauce.

Sprinkle a pinch of salt and some coconut shavings on top and enjoy.

Notes

Most of the avocados sold today in your local grocery stores, are hybrids. Real avocados are about the size of a peach. Although most of these are hybrids, they offer some health benefits. Pure avocados are hard to find. This dish is a suggested snack for those looking to transition their children to a healthier alternative. *The picture above gives you an idea of what real non hybrid avocados look like*
